CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City is in the early phase of getting a very special addition that will honor a hometown Hollywood star.
The Parks and Recreation department was contacted by donors looking to bring a life-sized statue of Farrah Fawcett to our community.
Although approval from the City would be needed to make it official, the donors and friends of the Corpus Christi native known for gracing our television and movie screens are hoping to get the statue to our Bayfront.
“She was such an iconic symbol of Corpus Christi,” Art Museum of South Texas Director Sara Morgan said. “She grew up here, she went to high school here, she still has a lot of friends here and I think they wanted her hometown to have a commemoration of her.”
If approved, those behind the project say the ideal completion date for the statue would be early next year.
