Harris County deputies and fire crews ensured no duck was left behind, helping ducks cross roads and rescuing ducklings from a storm drain.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — From busy roads to storm drains, Harris County deputies and fire crews spent Saturday making sure no duck was left behind.

In two separate incidents, deputies and fire crews worked to protect some very vulnerable pedestrians: mother ducks and their ducklings.

The first incident happened along U.S. 290 at Spring Cypress, where deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office temporarily shut down the inbound main lanes to help a mother duck and her ducklings cross the highway.
