Rangers lose to Diamondbacks 9-1 with World Series now tied 1-1

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-1 in Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday night. The series is now tied 1-1 with Game 3 happening Monday night.

With Rangers 30-year-old pitcher Jordan Montgomery on the mound to start Game 2, the Diamondbacks caused a lot of damage in the 4th inning, scoring two runs. Montgomery finished the game going six innings while allowing nine hits and four runs.

Merrill Kelly was the starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks in Game 2. He lasted seven innings, giving up one run on three hits. Arizona ended the game with 16 hits.

Game 3 of the World Series will take place in Phoenix at 7:03 p.m. on Monday.
