Rare duck from Arctic found, saved by little girl in Greenfield

GREENFIELD, Ind. — It’s not everyday you find a rare duck from Arctic walking through the streets of central Indiana, but that’s exactly what happened for a little girl in Greenfield.

The girl who found the duck decided to name her Rosealini.

“We’re hoping that she’ll feel better by next week, and maybe she can hitch a ride with Santa back to the North Pole,” the shelter said.

These types of ducks spend most of their time in northern waters on ocean coasts and dive down to 200 feet deep to get their food, according to All About Birds.
