SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs have reached an agreement with guard De’Aaron Fox on a four-year, $229 million contract extension, according to an ESPN report.
The contract puts Fox in San Antonio through the end of the 2029-30 season.
Fox joined the Spurs in February after a trade deadline deal with the Sacramento Kings.
Fox is expected to share backcourt time with Stephon Castle, the 2024-25 NBA Rookie of the Year, and Dylan Harper, the Spurs’ No. 2 pick in this year’s draft.
The three are expected to bolster 2023-24 NBA Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama as a young core for years to come.
Fox averaged 19.7 points and 6.8 assists in 17 games with the Spurs last season. His season was cut short by injury. He had surgery in March to repair a tendon in his pinkie finger.
