David Jones-Garcia declines Olympiacos’ offer to pursue opportunities in the NBA.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ 2025 Summer League standout David Jones-Garcia has reportedly turned down an offer from Greek club Olympiacos to aim to remain with the Spurs or an NBA team, according to Eurohoops.
“David Jones-Garcia turned down an offer from EuroLeague powerhouse Olympiacos Piraeus to continue with the San Antonio Spurs, according to Eurohoops sources.
Jones-Garcia, 23, was approached with a tempting offer by Olympiacos as the Reds were willing to give him a salary above 2 million per year. However, the Dominican player isn’t interested in moving to Europe.”
Note that there has been no official release from the Spurs (or any other NBA team) that there is an agreement with Jones-Garcia. However, he opened eyes with his play on the court at the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League.
In five games in Las Vegas, he averaged an impressive 21.6 points, 53% from the 3-point line, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. His play at the California Classic earned him a spot on the All-Tournament squad.

The undrafted guard would seemingly fit well in San Antonio; however, the Spurs are already loaded with guards, and playing time may be an issue for him unless he is agreeable to continuing to play in the G League (Austin Spurs).
San Antonio does have two two-way contracts to use and roster spots to fill, but whether the Spurs will use a place for Jones-Garcia remains an open question.
Jones-Garcia has played with the Philadelphia Sixers, Utah Jazz, the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars, and the G League’s Capitanes.
