
February marks the start of Rodeo season and Valentine’s Day celebrations. See what’s in store this weekend in the Alamo City.
SAN ANTONIO — The festivities got off to a slow start in January, but with spring-like temperatures and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo right around the corner, you may want to take advantage of all the fun lined up in the first weekend of February in the Alamo City.
Here are some events you won’t want to miss.
Western Heritage Parade
It’s almost time to dust off your boots and cowboy hats for Rodeo season. Kick off the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in style and celebrate our rich Texas roots this weekend for the Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive.
History comes alive in the streets of downtown for a parade showcasing the heritage of our Lone Star State and the Old West. Witness a majestic herd of Texas cattle, mounted infantry groups, authentic wagons and more.
When: Saturday, February 1, from 10:55 a.m. – noon.
Where: The parade begins at Milam Park on West Commerce, continues down Houston Street and ends on Broadway.

Yee Haw in the Park
After the parade, two-step on over to Travis Park as Centro San Antonio hosts the debut of the free family-friendly rodeo festival Yee Haw in the Park.
There will be food trucks and vendors. Plus, a live longhorn photo op, armadillo racing, face painting, horseshoes, a trick roping pop-up performance and more.
It will be a truly Texan experience you won’t want to miss.

Vaquero Cook-Off
Another kickoff event part of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Western Heritage Weekend happening this weekend is the Vaquero Cook-Off.
Come hungry to this free event and immerse yourself in the rich traditions of Hispanic heritage and the cowboy culture of Vaqueros. Enjoy live music, dancing, shop from unique on-site vendors and, of course, sample or purchase delicious team cooking entries.
When: Saturday, February 1, from noon – 11:30 p.m.

Asian New Year Festival
Usher in the Year of the Snake and celebrate a collection of Asian and Pacific cultures through music, dance, and food at the annual San Antonio Asian New Year Festival, set for this weekend at Rolling Oaks Mall.
The free event is aimed at sharing the city’s diverse Asian culture, heritage and traditions with a community celebration of the Lunar New Year.
There will be cultural performances, authentic cuisine, shopping and sumo wrestling. Plus, stick around for cosplay and K-POP dancing contests.
When: Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2, from noon – 6 p.m.

A Very Emo Valentine’s
Get in your feels this Saturday and experience three stages of emo music featuring national and local acts.
A Very Emo Valentine’s MusicFest 2025 will feature food and drinks, live music, vendors and more. Grab your friends, dress in your best emo gear and get ready for a night to remember!
When: Saturday, February 1, from noon – 11 p.m.
Where: Plaza Guadalupe (1327 Guadalupe Street)
