Road rage shooting leads to the arrest of 2 men in Atascosa County, officials say

Officials said Jamie Rincon and Tyler Renner, both of Elmendorf, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas — Two men were arrested in connection to a road rage shooting Sunday night in Atascosa County.

The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a call for a shooting along IH-37 at around 9 p.m. where the caller had reportedly been struck in the arm by one of the rounds fired at him from another vehicle.

Deputies searched the area looking for a suspect’s vehicle. They were able to locate the vehicle at the Bexar/Atascosa County line and initiated a traffic stop, according to officials.

Authorities said a weapon matching the victim’s description of the firearm was located inside the vehicle along with ammunition matching the 9mm round fired at the victim’s car. Additionally, deputies confirmed the number of rounds missing from the suspect’s loaded magazine also matched the number of rounds fired at the victim.

The sheriff’s office said the two occupants of the suspect vehicle, Jamie Rincon and Tyler Renner, both of Elmendorf, were booked into the Atascosa County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Their bond is set at $100,000 each.
