Roadways reopened after major 18-wheeler rollover accident at Finesilver Curve, authorities say

SAN ANTONIO — A major 18-wheeler crash near the downtown area has caused major traffic delays Monday morning, officials said.

Several emergency responders were called to the Finesilver Curve and discovered an 18-wheeler on its side.

Police said the 18-wheeler was carrying roofing materials when it flipped on its side. Witnesses told authorities that the 18-wheeler was traveling too fast for the curve. No injuries were reported.

The rollover accident caused multiple closures including the entrance ramp just west of E Elmira Street and San Pedro Avenue and the I-35 N southbound to I-10 westbound at Finesilver Curve, according to SAPD. The roadways were reopened around 1:30p.m.

According to TxDOT, traffic delays were expected for several hours.

SAPD said no charges are pending.
