Coach Gregg Popovich:

“We didn’t shoot well in that first half from three but we hung in the second half. Went back and forth but as is usual in the NBA, down the stretch, you got to make shots. (Dillon) Brooks made two threes in a row down there, which gave them a little bit of a separation and that’s what it’s all about at the end of games.”

Wembanyama:

“Coach (Popovich) said it again tonight in the locker room. It’s our job, and this is what we’re here for: to win as soon as possible but also in the long run. So it’s there’s no other option.”

They’re (Houston) really physical. They are always really physical. They get away with it. You can only call so many fouls in the game, and it’s just how they play but it was just really physical with them. They throw a lot of bodies at him (Wembanyama). I felt like he did a really good job at handling it.”

Ime Udoka:

“Our attention to [Wembanyama], making the other guys have to prove it to beat us, which some of them did for a minute. [Jeremy] Sochan and [Tre] Jones hit some shots that kind of kept them in it. But the main thing was taking out those two, and I think we did a good job again.”

Dillon Brooks:

“I feel like we did a good job, especially on that last play when [Devin] Vassell got the shot up, where we had fouled him before. So, I feel like we did great.”
