The Rockets agreed to deals with two free agents on Monday, according to reports.
HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets have been busy this offseason, and they didn’t slow down on the first day of free agency.
According to reports, the Rockets signed forward Dorian Finney-Smith to a four-year deal worth $53 million and center Clint Capela to a three-year deal for $21.5 million.
Finney-Smith will help Houston’s defense as well as its three-point shooting. Capela will likely be used in a reserve role.
Capela, 31, was drafted by the Rockets with the 25th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. In February 2020, Houston traded Capela to the Atlanta Hawks, where he has played the last five seasons.
Finney-Smith, 32, has played for three teams in his nine-year career — the Dallas Mavericks, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.
Earlier this month, the Rockets pulled off a blockbuster trade that landed them Kevin Durant. The Rockets gave up Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and six future picks to land the 15-time All-Star and four-time Olympic gold medalist.

Durant averaged 26.6 points this season, his 17th in the NBA, not counting one year missed because of injury. For his career, the 6-foot-11 forward is averaging 27.2 points and seven rebounds per game.
Houston finished No. 2 in the Western Conference in the regular season, albeit 16 games behind No. 1 Oklahoma City.
The move brings Durant back to the state of Texas, where he played his one year of college basketball for the Longhorns and was the college player of the year before going as the No. 2 pick in the 2007 draft by Seattle.
