SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Fire Department said a man drowned at Woodlawn Lake on the city’s west side Monday afternoon.
Fire crews said a police officer noticed a man, who has not yet been identified, in the water and tried to help but the man went under.
SAFD’s boat rescue crew eventually recovered the man’s body but officials said it was too late. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said there could have been an undercurrent or debris holding the man down. He was found in a section of the lake that goes from two feet to 10 feet, according to SAFD.
Right now, investigators are not calling this drowning intentional.
This is a developing story.
