SA firefighters tackle burning building filled with haunted house mannequins, officials say

No injuries were reported.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Fire crews responded to a building fire in the downtown area Monday afternoon, officials say.

Firefighters were called to the 400 block of W Laurel Street around 4:30 p.m. for a reported structure fire.

Officials said fire crews had received reports of people being stuck in the burning building. Firefighters reportedly found several mannequins – from a previous haunted house, but no one inside.

A battalion chief on scenes said one side of the building was covered in flames due to an excessive amount of trash and mannequins inside the building. Fire crews were able to quickly knock down the fire.

Fire officials said this was not the first time they had been called to this location.

No injuries were reported.
