SA man faces charges after drugs seized in federal raid at northwest-side home, court records show

Investigators say James Sterrett is facing a charge of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is in federal custody after investigators say they found multiple types of drugs and other items during a search of his northwest side home, according to court documents.

James Sterrett is facing a charge of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

According to court records, agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Sterrett’s home on Monday.

Investigators said they found a large quantity of drugs hidden in shoes throughout the home.

Court documents state authorities recovered approximately 167 grams of suspected fentanyl, about 0.4 pounds, along with 86.88 grams of a suspected mixture of fentanyl and methamphetamine, and 21.3 grams of suspected MDMA.

According to investigators, the search also uncovered multiple fake government IDs, stolen mail and several counterfeit U.S. Postal Service master keys.

Sterrett faces a potential sentence of up to 40 years in prison and a $5 million fine if convicted, according to court documents.
