SAN ANTONIO — A 78-year-old woman was hospitalized after San Antonio police said her grandson attacked her with a knife on the city’s east side Wednesday night.

Police said the teen cut his grandmother on the hand and face at a home on the 4000 block of Sunrise Cove Drive and ran down the road where he ended up cutting a second person.

The boy was found at a nearby Crunch Fitness off FM 78 where he was taken into custody, according to SAPD.

Officials said the grandmother was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.

It is unclear at this time what led up to the attacks or what charges, if any, the teen faces.

This is a developing story.
