Sad anniversary | It’s now been two years since three-year-old Lina Sardar Khil went missing

Her case remains active as San Antonio Police continue to investigate her disappearance.

SAN ANTONIO — Wednesday, December 20 marks two years since 3-year-old Lina Sardar Khil disappeared from an apartment complex on the northwest side.

Now two years later, her missing persons case remains unsolved and later Wednesday morning, there will be an observance in her honor.

Lina remains an active missing persons case with San Antonio Police. Surveillance video released by police shows her at a playground on December 20, 2021, before she disappeared.

Lina is wearing a red outfit and coat and is nearby other young children. At one point, she walks out of the video and that’s the last time she was seen.

In February of this year, her family released an updated sketch of the girl. The picture shows what Lina could possibly look like now at age five to five and a half years old.

It was released during an observance to mark her birthday.

Through a translator, her father said he hoped it would bring in more tips.

Lack of progress in the case has created frustration for the family. However, the girl’s father has not given up hope on finding Lina alive.

The Afghan community and Eagles flight will observe the second year of her disappearance Wednesday.

It will take place at 11 a.m. at the American Muslim Community Center.

If you know anything about this case, you are urged to call SAPDs Missing Persons Unit.

There is a reward being offered from Crime Stoppers and the Islamic Center of San Antonio to help find her.
