SAN ANTONIO — An abandoned home on the south side is a total loss and needs to be demolished now, SAFD says.
The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 700 block of West Gerald Avenue near West Southcross Blvd.
Firefighters arrived at the home after it was already engulfed in flames. Officials say the second story of the home collapsed into the first floor. The roof was left in ashes.
The battalion chief tells us the home suffered too much damage and now needs to be torn down.
No injuries were reported.
Officials will be investigating how the fire started in this abandoned home.
