SAFD battle fire at northwest-side apartment complex; no injuries reported

Not much is confirmed at this point, but SAFD says that there’s a fire between floors of an apartment building.

SAN ANTONIO — SAFD battled a severe structure fire in a northwest-side apartment building.

Fire officials were called to an apartment complex in the 11100 block of Huebner Oaks at around 10:12 p.m. Saturday for a structure fire.

SAFD Public Information Officer Joe Arrington says that there was a fire between floors of an apartment building.

Before the fire, SAFD says a resident told them there were “kids or young adults” having a get together or party in a unit above. Shortly after, SAFD said the noise dissipated and that’s when the fire started and they started to see dripping from the ceiling.

SAFD says whatever started the fire collapsed the roof into that apartment.

As of midnight, the fire was mostly contained. Multiple units were impacted but SAFD doesn’t know how many.

Everybody got out, according to SAFD, and no injuries were reported.

It’s still not clear what led up to the fire at this moment.

This is a developing situation and KENS 5 will continue to update this article as we learn more.
