SAFD: Crews fight large fire at north side spa storage facility

No injuries were reported. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio fire crews battled a large fire at a north side storage facility that sent thick, dark clouds of smoke high into the city skyline Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the scene of the fire at the Jacuzzi Sundance Spas Storage warehouse near North Loop 1604 and Redland Road.

SAFD said firefighters were able to contain the flames to just the warehouse where it appears to be under control and the smoke has began to settle.

Hazmat trucks were sent to the scene as a safety precaution, according to SAFD, to ensure there were no dangerous chemicals stemming from fiberglass and other materials burning in the warehouse.

Officials said the fire caused extensive damage to the warehouse and appears to be a total loss.

No injuries were reported. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.

This is a developing story.
