SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire at a vacant home on the east side of town that has smoke filling a neighborhood.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the 1400 block of North Pine Street near North Hackberry Street around 5 a.m. for reports of a fire.
They arrived to find flames shooting from the home. The wind caused the flames to spread, making it difficult for firefighters to get control of the blaze. Officials believe the fire may have been started by homeless inside the building. They said they responded to a fire about a month ago in the same home.
Officials say the home is a total loss. A business located to the left of the home was also damaged by the blaze.
This is a developing story.
