SAFD: Fire hits vacant building near Lutheran High School on the northwest side

No injuries were reported.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio fire crews rushed to the city’s northwest side Monday afternoon after a structure fire broke out near Lutheran High School.

Officials said the call came in around 12:45 p.m. for reports of smoke in the area near Babcock Road and Camp Bullis Road, but first responders quickly found an active fire with visible flames and called for additional crews.

One of the first crews ran out of water while battling the flames, and officials said it took some time to access additional supply before SAFD was able to knock down the fire.

Officials said the structure appears to be a house or hunting cabin that has been vacant for some time. No one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

According to SAFD, the structure is most likely a total loss and they are currently working on  contacting the property owner or manager.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. The fire remains under investigation.

Officials said the scene may cause some traffic delays in the area.
