SAFD says they found a couple of empty gas cans on the side of the house located in the 500 block of Blue Bonnet Street.
SAN ANTONIO — SAFD is investigating a “suspicious” fire that severely damaged an east-side house.
Firefighters were called to the 500 block of Blue Bonnet Street for a structure fire around 10:24 p.m. Tuesday night. When they arrived, they found heavy flames and smoke coming from the back of the unoccupied house.
Officials say they were able to quickly knock the fire. SAFD says the home had electricity but no gas service. Damage to the house is “severe”
SAFD says the cause is “suspicious” at the time as they found a couple of empty gas cans on the side of the house. Fire investigators are working to determine the official cause. Arson investigators will be called out if needed as well.
Officials say the house was up for sale.
