SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio firefighters worked quickly to put out a fire at a home on the city’s west side Wednesday afternoon.
SAFD said heavy flames were coming from the roof of a two-story residential structure located on the 800 block of Barrel Point near Military Drive West and Potranco Road.
Officials said the home was struck by lightning. Crews were able to knock out the blaze in about 10 minutes, according to SAFD.
The home sustained damages mainly to the attic and the second floor but fire officials said it is repairable.
SAFD also confirmed a family was home at the time of the fire but no injuries were reported.
