SAFD rescues man who fell into creek on northeast side during storm

Neighbors who lived beside the creek heard the man yelling and called for help.

SAN ANTONIO — A man had to be rescued by San Antonio firefighters after he fell into a creek on the northeast side of town Sunday evening during the storms.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. along Grantham Drive and Brettonwood Drive.

According to police, the man had parked his vehicle on the street and walked down to the creek bed to get a closer look at the water when he fell in.

Neighbors who live nearby reported hearing him yell for help and called 911. Firefighters responded to the location with a rescue boat and safely rescued him.

This was great work done by first responders because Salado Creek goes all the way down into south San Antonio until it hits San Antonio river.

No injuries were reported.
