SAFD: Residents evacuated as firefighters quickly put out flames at northeast-side apartment complex

SAFD said firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and all residents made it out safely.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Fire Department responded early Saturday morning to an apartment fire on the city’s northeast side that officials said forced residents to evacuate.

Firefighters were called around 1 a.m. to the 10000 block of Starcrest Drive after reports of a structure fire, SAFD said.

Crews arrived to find flames coming from a first-floor unit, with the fire spreading to the second story. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and a primary search confirmed that all residents made it out safely, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
