SAFD: Vacant structure destroyed by fire early Sunday

The structure is a total loss, according to firefighters.

SAN ANTONIO — An early morning fire destroyed a structure on the southeast side of town Sunday morning, according to the fire department.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. in the 400 block of McKinley Avenue near Steves Avenue.

Officials say the structure was vacant and heavily involved when they arrived at the scene.

They were able to get the flames under control in roughly 40 minutes, but the structure is a total loss and will be demolished.

They have not determined a cause yet due to the extent of the f=damage,

No injuries were reported.
