Firefighters responded to a working house fire near Culebra Road early Thursday morning, where everyone inside escaped safely despite serious damage to the home.

SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters responded to a late-night house fire on the city’s West Side early Thursday morning after reports that children may have been trapped inside the home.

The fire broke out around 1:51 a.m. in the 200 block of Loma Park Drive near Culebra Road. According to the San Antonio Fire Department, initial calls indicated children were inside the home, but firefighters confirmed everyone made it out safely.

Crews arrived to find a working fire involving the house and two vehicles. Officials say it is still unclear whether the vehicles caught fire first or if the flames spread from the home.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control, but the house sustained serious damage. No injuries were reported.

The San Antonio Police Department also responded to assist at the scene.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
