SAFD: Woman killed after being hit by truck on south side of town

Police say a driver in a Dodge Ram told officers that he was making a right turn onto the street and didn’t see the woman in the road.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was killed after being hit by a driver who didn’t see her, then dragged her for an entire block before stopping, police say.

Police and firefighters were called just after 8 a.m. Wednesday to the 10000 block of Roosevelt Avenue near Highway 281 South and Loop 410 for reports of an accident.

Police say a driver in a Dodge Ram told officers that he was making a right turn onto the street and didn’t see the woman in the road. He hit her and then dragged her the length of a city block before he stopped to render aid, according to police. She has not been identified yet but officers say she was in her 50s or 60s. She died at the scene.

This is a developing story.
