Marcy Westcott releases her book on overcoming crisis with mindfulness, praised for its practical advice.
SAN ANTONIO — Meditation and mindfulness teacher Marcy Westcott has released a new book, “Searching for Sanity: How I Overcame Crisis with Mindfulness and How You Can Too.”
Westcott will hold a Sit and Sign event for the book Sunday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Twig Book Shop, 306 Pearl Parkway, Suite 106, in San Antonio.
The book offers guidance on finding peace, healing from loss and cultivating creativity. Westcott describes mindfulness as a tool for resilience during stress or crisis, writing that meditation can help calm fear and restore clarity.
Prompted by her own struggles with long-term stress and anxiety, Westcott said meditation became a lifeline. She now teaches through her Still State Meditation & Mindfulness Instruction and partners with the San Antonio Botanical Garden as part of their wellness programming – teaching meditation classes.
Melissa Mastrodomenico, CPA and president of NAWBO San Antonio, praised the book for its honesty and practical advice.
““As a CPA and business owner, I’ve spent years pushing through stress without always recognizing how much it was affecting me. Marcy’s book gave a name to the internal voice I’ve battled—‘The Bad Roommate’—and reminded me that with intention, mindfulness, and self-compassion, it is possible to change the narrative. Her story is honest, inspiring, and packed with practical insight. I’m excited to explore meditation for myself, and grateful for the clarity her book brought to my journey,” Mastrodomenico said.
Westcott is also a certified meditation instructor through the McLean Meditation Institute, a grief coach, corporate wellness trainer and award-winning business owner. She was named the 2025 NAWBO Inspiring Woman of the Year and was a 2023 finalist for Inspiring Woman Business Owner of the Year.
