The San Antonio Botanical Garden is transforming into an outdoor art experience for Spring Break with a large-scale installation and family-friendly activities.
SAN ANTONIO — Spring Break visitors will find art, nature and family-friendly activities at the San Antonio Botanical Garden this month.
The garden has launched Otherwild, a large-scale outdoor art installation created by artist Patrick Shearn and his studio Poetic Kinetics. The immersive exhibit opened March 7 and will remain on display through July 7.
Organizers say the installation transforms the garden into a whimsical environment where art and nature blend together, creating a colorful, flowing display designed to move with the wind.
Spring Break programming at the garden runs March 9 through March 15 and will include several activities for visitors.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic to enjoy among the garden’s exhibits and landscapes. Visitors can also take photos in the garden’s bluebonnet field, which is currently in bloom.
Families can also return March 14 for a Pi Day celebration featuring STEM-inspired activities, including a scavenger hunt, tree ring discovery activities and “Slice of Pi(e)” themed treats.
The San Antonio Botanical Garden is located at 555 Funston Place. Tickets and additional information are available on the garden’s website.
