San Antonio Public Works wants your help to fill 10,000 potholes this month by calling 311.
SAN ANTONIO — Fiesta is right around the corner and San Antonio can make anything a celebration — even potholes.
Monday, the San Antonio Public Works Department is starting its Annual Pothole Patrol Blitz campaign.
Annually, the San Antonio Public Works Department fills about 80,000 potholes across the city.
This month, their goal is to fill 10,000.
They need your help and they’re passing out medals for anyone ready to support public work crews making sure our roads are safe.
“Sometimes, the drivers don’t pay attention, and they run real fast, and oh, my God, they sometimes lose control,” said Rosario Gonzalez, Pothole Patrol Attendee.
To avoid crashes and broken cars costing money, Rosario Gonzalez and her husband Daniel are always ready to make a call to 311.
This is the 25th anniversary of the 311 service line to report a pothole in San Antonio.
They’ve answered three millions calls since the line was created.
The public works department says its staff found 93 percent of the potholes across the city last year.
Whenever you make the call, the public works department says they quickly get to work.
“We guarantee that if you call 311 or report potholes through 311 SA app, we’ll go out and fix it within two business days,” said Anthony Chukwudolue, San Antonio Deputy Director of Public Works.
Dozens gathered at San Pedro park to kick off the Pothole Patrol Blitz and continue the tradition with a bright new medal.
“I got one last year when I saw it in the news. I said I got to get this one this year,” said Daniel Gonzalez, Pothole Patrol Attendee.
If you see any potholes on the road, call 311 and the public works department will get it done.
