San Antonio family finds cat with ‘blow dart’ in spine; police seeking leads on suspect

A northwest-side family called SAPD after they found a blow dart in the back of their cat, Smokey.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department is asking for help in identifying a suspect accused of shooting a cat with a blow dart on the northwest side.

On Nov. 28, officers responded to the 7000 block of Spring Terrace after a homeowner reported they had found their cat with a “blow dart with an orange tip” in its spine.

Detectives have attempted to make contact with surrounding homeowners for video of a possible suspect, but unfortunately have no leads.

If anyone has information that could lead to an arrest in this case, they are urged to contact SAPD’s Property Crimes unit at 210-207-8326 with the case number: SAPD25241834.
