
SAFD said the fire sparked in the Amerigo’s Mart kitchen and caused damage to the vent hood, a wall and possibly some kitchen equipment.
SAN ANTONIO — A grease fire broke out Wednesday night in the kitchen of a northwest-side food mart, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
Firefighters responded around 10:11 p.m. to Amerigo’s Mart, located on the 4100 block of Gardendale Road, where they found an active kitchen fire.
SAFD said crews were able to quickly knock down the flames. The fire caused damage to the vent hood, a wall and possibly some kitchen equipment.
The store was open at the time but officials said no injuries were reported. A food inspector was called to the scene.
