A fire on Basse Road severely damaged a gambling business early Thursday morning.
SAN ANTONIO — Crews were able to successful tackle a north-side fire that broke out early Thursday morning at a gambling spot on Basse Road, according to the San Antonio Fiore Department.
The fire happened in the 1100 block of Basse Road near San Pedro Avenue, at a gambling business around 5:15 a.m.
According to SAFD, firefighters were able to knock down the flames in about 10 minutes but the business suffered heavy damage. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire and nearby stores sustained some smoke damage.
Basse Road was shut down while firefighters and investigators continued their work, but has since reopened.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
