A fire on Basse Road severely damaged a storefront early Thursday morning.
SAN ANTONIO — Crews are still on the scene of a fire that broke out early Thursday morning in a cluster of buildings along Basse Road.
The fire happened in the 1100 block of Basse Road near San Pedro Avenue, where a gambling business suffered heavy damage around 5:15 a.m. Firefighters were able to knock down the flames in about 10 minutes.
According to SAFD, the fire started 20-30 feet in the back of the business and nearby stores sustained smoke damage.
Basse Road in the area has been shut down while firefighters and investigators continue their work. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes Thursday morning.
No injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
