The average gas price in San Antonio continues to fall as the holiday season comes to a close but the downward trend could come to an end, calling back to pre-pandemic wobbling. The average price for San Antonio gas is sitting at $2.58 per gallon as of Tuesday afternoon, which is 11 cents lower from the average earlier in December, according to AAA.
The Texas average sat at $2.67 as of Tuesday, which is an 8-cent jump from just a week ago, AAA data says. Still, prices are fluctuating below a $3 average. The average for Texas has continued to gradually drop from the early November price of $2.91, which is the first time the average fell below $3 since March 2023.
“Daily gas prices will likely move back and forth for the next month or so,” Goss says in a recent news release. “Looking back at pre-pandemic 2019, the national average did not make a firm turn to moving higher daily until Valentine’s Day, February 14.”
