SAN ANTONIO — Get ready for a lot of food, drinks and fun because the Irish spirit will be alive and well downtown for the annual St. Patrick’s River Parades & Celebration.
It’s an over 50-year tradition with something for everyone to enjoy.
San Antonio always knows how to throw a party, and this weekend is no exception!
You can watch the river turn green at Mad Dogs British Pub starting at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, but that’s only the beginning of the fun.
From 1-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, you can have fun at the St. Patrick’s Day Festival at La Villita and enjoy live entertainment at the Arneson River Theatre.
From 2-3 p.m., the 2nd Annual Emerald Run 5K will be happening at the Jones Avenue bridge.
If you want to move a little slower, a family walk will take place after the run.
For parades, families have multiple options:
The first will be at the museum reach of the San Antonio river from 3-4 p.m. The second will be downtown starting at 5:45 p.m. The last will be at the Arneson River Theatre at 6:30 p.m.
And if you miss the river dyeing on Saturday. Organizers will do it all again on Sunday at Mad Dogs British Pub from 1-3 p.m.
Lastly, if you want to bring your pets to the fun, McIntyre’s Southtown is having a lucky dog fashion show starting at 2:30 p.m.
