After nearly 10 years in the works, an Eastside three-story food truck park near the Hays Street Bridge will finally see some movement. Construction is expected to begin in February on the park called Brooklyn StrEat Food Park at 201 Burnet St., San Antonio, TX 78202, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
On top of spaces for food trucks, Brooklyn StrEat will include a three-story structure for live entertainment, food, and drinks. Renderings also show various outdoor activities in the surrounding green spaces like soccer, as well as air hockey and foosball tables. The park was announced in 2013 as a smaller $500,000 iteration.

In 2018, San Antonio City Council approved $350,000 of tax increment investment zone funds for the food park. Project lead Joe Anthony Guerrero told the Express-News that the COVID-19 pandemic got in the way of any progress.
“Now that we feel that things are coming back to where they should be, we feel that it’s something the area could use,” Guerrero told the Express-News.
