San Antonio hosts first pinball state championship

40 finalists are competing for a $2,200 grand prize and chance to play in the national pinball championship.

SAN ANTONIO — The best pinball players in Texas are rolling into the Alamo City this weekend as San Antonio hosts its first pinball state championship.

It’s a weekend-long tournament being held at What’s Brewing Coffee Roasters at 130 W. Rhapsody.

40 men and women were selected to play, having the highest pinball scores in their respective leagues.

The contestant with the highest overall score in the tournament will be crowned the champion.

The grand prize is $2,200 dollars and a chance to play in the national pinball championship, then world.

The community is invited to watch the tournament or stream it live on Twitch.
