San Antonio International Airport celebrates first nonstop flight to Puerto Rico

This flight is the first to a Caribbean destination and is just in time for spring break.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio International Airport is celebrating their first nonstop flight to Puerto Rico on Wednesday.

This flight is the first to a Caribbean destination and is just in time for spring break.

The flight will take off from the Alamo City at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday and go nonstop to San Juan, Puerto Rico on Spirit Airlines. 

The festivities include a ribbon cutting ceremony, Puerto Rican cultural dance performances and the passengers on the flight will receive commemorative pins in celebration.
