SAT is searching for its first mascot to spread joy at public events. Energetic applicants must apply by Feb. 17 to represent the airport.
SAN ANTONIO — Look up in the sky, it may soon be the newest face of San Antonio International Airport.
The airport is holding a casting call to select its first-ever official mascot, who will represent the airport at public events and community functions.
Airport officials announced the opportunity in a recent social media post, inviting energetic and outgoing individuals to apply for the role.
Applicants must stand between 5-feet-10 inches and 6-feet-1 inch tall and have a thin, athletic build to meet costume requirements. The airport is also looking for someone who is joyful, high-energy and comfortable engaging with the public. The ideal candidate should enjoy interacting with people, be able to perform a few dance moves or fun gestures and, most importantly, have a love for SAT and spreading smiles.
Prior experience as a mascot, cheerleader or member of a street team is considered a plus, but it is not required, airport officials said.
Those interested in applying must email a resume and headshot to SATevents@sanantonio.gov by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.
