It’s almost Easter in San Antonio, meaning many residents will bring out their tents and head to their favorite park for the annual overnight camping tradition. The City of San Antonio lifted the curfew at select parks for Easter overnight camping starting Thursday, March 28.
Park curfew will be lifted at 11 p.m. on Thursday and resume at 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31, according to a news release from the city’s Parks and Recreation Department on Tuesday, March 26. Below are the following parks where overnight parking is allowed:
The department is urging others to bring trash bags and remove their trash at the end of their stay in the park. Park staff and volunteers will promote recycling opportunities and provide extra trash bags to visitors, according to officials. No glass containers are allowed at the parks.
“Our city’s Easter camping tradition is like none other, and we’re excited to welcome families, friends, and neighbors to select parks over the holiday weekend,” Homer Garcia III, Director of Parks and Recreation, stated in the release. “We encourage visitors to do their part to ensure our parks remain clean by disposing of litter and recyclables properly. Whatever you pack into the park, please remember to pack it out.”
