Court records show 21-year-old Aden Cantu used social media to sell illegal weapons.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man was found guilty of owning and distributing illegal weapons Monday.
Aden Ethan Cantu, aka “Glock Mayne,” 21, was sentenced in federal court Monday for one count of possessing a machinegun. Cantu previously faced sexual assault charges.
Records show Cantu was out on a felony bond for the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl when he was found in possession of these weapons and arrested on Dec. 15, 2023.
Cantu was sentenced to 71 months in prison Monday.
Documents state Cantu used social media accounts to sell illegal and stolen firearms, machinegun conversion devices and firearms that were illegally converted into machineguns across the San Antonio community.
Court records show Cantu was out on bond for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in May of 2023 when he was arrested for possessing the illegal weapons.
An affidavit and police report state the girl told police her drink was spiked at a party before she was put in a car, driven to another location and raped.

Police said when the teen was given a photo line-up she pointed out Cantu because they are casual acquaintances on social media.
Records show the case was thrown out due to insufficient evidence in Feb. of 2024. In September of the same year Cantu plead guilty to the charge of possession of a machine gun.
“The possession of a machinegun conversion device is illegal,” said U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza for the Western District of Texas. “These devices are very often paired with stolen firearms and used in other criminal endeavors, and this sentence reinforces the message that trafficking these devices will not be tolerated in our community.”
The maximum penalty for this offense is 10 years in prison with a fine up to $250,000.
