San Antonio man arrested in connection to shooting that killed neighbor on south side, police say

SAPD said 24-year-old Noah Flores was taken into custody after officers responded to a disturbance that escalated into a fatal shooting on Thursday afternoon.

SAN ANTONIO — A 24-year-old man has been identified as the suspect arrested in a fatal shooting that left one man dead and a woman hospitalized Thursday afternoon on the city’s south side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said Noah Flores was taken into custody after officers responded to a disturbance that escalated into a shooting in the 200 block of Lyric Drive, near I-37 and East Southcross.

Officers were dispatched around 12:39 p.m. after a caller reported a man in a backyard with a gun, according to SAPD.

When officers arrived, police said Flores came outside without the firearm and was taken into custody.

Investigators said officers found two victims at the scene. A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead, while a 30-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her upper extremity and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to officials.

Police said on Thursday that the victims were neighbors of the suspect and appeared to have been exiting their home when gunfire struck them through a fence.

Investigators are still working to determine a possible motive and whether an argument occurred before the shooting. Detectives were also reviewing statements, surveillance video and other evidence collected at the scene, SAPD said.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, according to officials.
