San Antonio man dies after stabbing in parking lot of New Braunfels dance hall, officials say

​Just after midnight Sunday morning, officials were called to the Legends Dance Hall after a fight broke out between many people in the parking lot.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A man is now dead in after a stabbing took place in a New Braunfels dance hall’s parking lot, police say.

Just after midnight Sunday morning, officials were called to the Legends Dance Hall in the 5400 block of I-35 South after a fight broke out between many people in the parking lot.

A 52-year-old man from San Antonio was found with an apparent stab wound by officers, who immediately attempted life-saving efforts. He was eventually taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators were eventually able to identify a suspect in the stabbing thanks to witness statements and evidence. The suspect was later located at a home in the 200 block of Gruene Road where an arrest warrant was obtained.

55-year-old David Saldana was arrested by SWAT officers and has been charged with homicide.

Saldana’s bond will be set after he is booked into the Comal County jail.

Officials say additional arrests or charges may be pending.
