San Antonio Municipal Court extends hours for outstanding warrant resolution, offers arrest-free Saturdays

Beginning Feb. 16, the court will increase staffing and open on two Saturdays: Feb. 21 and Feb. 28.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Municipal Court will expand hours later this month as part of its annual Warrant Resolution Campaign, giving residents an opportunity to clear outstanding traffic and Class C misdemeanor warrants, avoiding arrest.

Beginning Feb. 16, the court will increase staffing and open on two Saturdays: Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. This is to help people resolve eligible citations. Saturday hours will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular court hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Municipal Court Presiding Judge Carla Obledo said the campaign is designed to allow people to work with judges and court staff to address citations without fear of arrest.

“Clearing warrants helps people avoid escalating fines, legal issues and challenges with employment or housing,” Obledo said. She also said that about 14,000 warrants were resolved during last year’s campaign.

Court officials said individuals with Class C warrants who appear in person will not be arrested. No appointment is required.

The Municipal Court is located at 401 S. Frio St., and free on-site parking is available.

Many cases, including traffic, civil and parking citations, may also be resolved online through the court’s payment system, officials said. Residents can check citation and warrant status using the Traffic/Criminal Case Search tool on the court’s website.
