Bill Oxford/Getty ImagesBack in June of 2021, reports swirled of a locally-famed Tejano singer Javier Galvan being injured in a deadly crash that killed three and injured two others. Now, Francisco Javier Galvan Trevino is pleading guilty to three counts of intoxicated manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle after the crash in Runnels County.
Trevino appears to be the same driver the San Antonio Express-News identified as the famed San Antonio musician involved in the crash, which occurred June 13, 2021, in Runnels County. According to a Texas Department of Transportation crash report obtained by MySA, the crash report shows the wreck killed 20-year-old Marisa Ramos and two of her passengers, 7-year-old Adalynn Muniz and 46-year-old Cissy Ramos. 12-year-old Keelie Ramos and 10-year-old Kolbie Ramos were injured during the crash but survived the incident.
Initial reports indicate Trevino entered an oncoming lane of traffic along Highway 153 near Ballinger, Texas, around 10:19 p.m., hitting Ramos’ vehicle head on. After investigating the crash, officers discovered Trevino had a blood-alcohol level of .132 during the crash – more than 1.5 times the legal limit of .08 in Texas.

‘[Trevino] was traveling southeast on SH 153. [Ramos] was traveling northeast on SH 153,” the TxDOT crash report reads. “[Trevino] was intoxicate from alcohol. [Trevino] enters the opposite lane of travel in a passing zone and is attempting to pass a line of several vehicles (reported to be at least three). [Trevino] did not have enough clearance to pass three vehicles. [Trevino] and [Ramos] collide in a ‘head on’ collision.”
More than two years later, Trevino entered a plea deal with prosecutors in the 119th state District Court Thursday, December 14. Express-News and several other articles identify the famed singer Javier Galvan as the driver involved in the crash, and a mugshot from the San Antonio Police Department of Trevino appears to match images of Galvan shared across the internet, suggesting Trevino and Galvan are one in the same.
MySA reached out to the company which claims to represent Galvan to confirm, but both declined to comment.

Trevino pleaded guilty to three second-degree felony counts of intoxicated manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle. He was sentenced to 15 years for each manslaughter charge and 10 years for each assault charge, but the terms are to run concurrently, meaning he is expected to serve up to 15 years behind bars.
After Trevino entered the plea with the Texas judge, the mother of one of the young victims killed in the crash spoke to the convicted felon, detailing the impact of his actions on her life.
“Each day that I wake up, I am faced with the reality of living this life without my baby girl,” Adalynn Rae Muniz’s mother, Alyssa Garcia, said before the court Thursday. “I was blessed with Addy at the age of 16. Her and I are all that I have known. Birthdays and holidays have been the absolute worst. They were her favorites. She loved to celebrate not only her birthday but everyone else’s and loved Christmas.”
Garcia described her daughter as “the first” for many in her family — Garcia’s first daughter, her parent’s first grandchild, and her siblings’ first niece. Garcia painted a picture of a life cut short, which left a lasting mark on those she knew.

“Addy’s seven years of life felt like so much more than that,” Garcia said. “She was the light of many lives. Her big cheesy smile with her deep dimples and goofy laugh is what we all remember her by. Her absence has been crippling to many of us. We have all had to learn to live without her and each passing year only gets harder.”
While admitting the loss of he daughter leaves deep wounds, Garcia said she’s opting to forgive Trevino for his part in the fatal crash that took her daughter’s life, leaning on her daughter’s faith in a higher power to give her the strength to forgive him for her own peace and understanding.
The Runnels County District Attorney’s Office provided a statement to MySA.
“This case is a painful reminder of the consequences of making the choice to drink and drive. Three lives were lost, and so many other lives have been forever impacted. Aside from my prayers for healing for this family and those affected by this case, my hope is that anyone who learns about this case will think twice before ever getting behind the wheel intoxicated,” wrote John Best, Runnels County’s district attorney.

Editor’s note: This story previously stated inaccurately that 12-year-old Keelie Ramos was among those killed in the accident. She was injured but survived. 46-year-old Cissy Ramos was the third death in the car that collided with Trevino’s vehicle, along with 20-year-old Marisa Ramos and 7-year-old Adalynn Muniz.
