San Antonio nonprofit asking for volunteers to simulate ‘fake injuries’ for disaster simulation training

San Antonio Aware and Prepared said the training will add realism and be essential for the evaluation of rescuer’s skills.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Aware and Prepared is looking for volunteers interested in being role players for disaster simulation training exercises.

The nonprofit is looking for 10 to 15 individuals willing to possibly be covered in “moulage”, or fake injuries, to simulate injuries that could be sustained during a disaster event.

“Involvement will add realism to the training and essential for the evaluation of the rescuer’s skills,” said the nonprofit.

The training is set to take place Saturday, Aug. 30 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at 5819 Northwest Loop 410 Suite 116.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear old clothes that may get stained or discarded after the training is over.

This event can serve as community service hours as well, according to the nonprofit.
