
A San Antonio Park Police officer was arrested on a family violence charge involving impeding breathing or circulation, officials say.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio Park Police officer has been arrested on a family violence charge and placed on administrative duty, officials said.
According to the San Antonio Park Police Department, Officer Juan Esqueda was arrested while off duty on March 17 just after 9 p.m. by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Esqueda is charged with assault family violence involving impeding breath or circulation, a felony offense.
Department officials said Esqueda has been employed with the Park Police for about three years.
Following the arrest, Esqueda has been placed on administrative duty while the case is under investigation.
The Park Police Department said it has launched an internal administrative investigation into the incident.
Officials say any questions related to the criminal case should be directed to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
