San Antonio police investigate 3 east-side shootings, one fatal

Authorities are investigating a murder at an apartment complex and two other shootings, one outside a bar and one in a neighborhood.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police are investigating three east-side shootings that happened early Sunday morning before daybreak.

The first shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. at the 1100 block of Delaware Street. Officers found a 35-year-old victim lying in the middle of the street with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The victim told police he was outside his home when the suspect approached him and started a disturbance

Police say the suspect left, then returned, shooting the victim twice in the stomach and ran away on foot going east on Delaware Street but has not been found yet.

The victim was taken to the hospital. At last check, police say he was in stable condition.

Nearly 20 minutes later, another shooting took place at the 500 block of Live Oak Street outside Home Room San Antonio, a sports bar.

That’s where officers found a 21-year-old victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to her lower body. According to bar staff, two large fights broke out around closing time. That’s when security began breaking up the fights.

During that time, police say someone in the group fired a shot, hitting a bystander in the process. The suspect is unknown at this time and the victim was taken to the hospital by EMS with a non-life-threatening injury.

Shortly after 4 a.m. authorities arrived to the 1500 block of Upland Road for another shooting, this time a murder.

The victim in this case was a 41-year-old man officers found with a fatal gunshot wound in the breezeway of an apartment complex. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the victim went outside to grab an item from his vehicle when a suspect approached the victim, which police say turned into a brawl.

Police say the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the 41-year-old man.

According to the information police gathered at the scene, the suspect took off.  Officers searched for him but could not find him.

All three investigations remain ongoing.
